Iowa AEAs empower districts to create equitable, accessible and future-ready learning environments that strengthen teaching, learning, and operations. Instructional Technology Services support all learners—including students with IEPs, English Learners, Gifted and Talented students and at-risk populations—through expert guidance and collaborative coaching.

Through coaching in accessibility, assistive technology, digital citizenship, blended learning, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), AEAs help schools ensure that instructional tools and digital resources meet the diverse needs of every student.

Districts also receive strategic support to:

  • Review, select, and implement High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM)
  • Integrate artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies
  • Adopt digital curricula aligned with state and national standards
  • Implement Computer Science as a required part of Iowa’s curriculum

These services ensure all students develop strong computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills—essential for success in today’s technology-driven world.

Digital Resources & Tools

AEAs offer a robust suite of instructional and technology supports to help schools use digital tools strategically and effectively. Districts can subscribe to the Iowa AEA Digital Resources Bundle and other EdTech tools at discounted pricing—providing access to a rich collection of vetted, high-quality instructional and media resources that support personalized, engaging learning experiences for every student.
