Iowa AEAs comprehensive services to support Section 504 are designed to connect districts with our experienced support and related services team to provide targeted consultation in the development and implementation of effective 504 plans. This support may include directly attending 504 plan meetings and aiding in the creation of student-centered plans. We also assist districts with the crucial step of implementing the required accommodations and actions outlined in each plan, including providing support for adaptive equipment for access. While specific 504 Training for educators is offered separately through the Iowa Department of Education, our staff are able to support teams after engaging in the learning so that personalized plans are developed to meet individual learners’ needs.
